The developer of inZOI has issued an apology for including Denuvo DRM in the game and has committed to removing it. Read on to discover the studio's official statement on the matter and their vision for creating a deeply moddable gaming experience.

The developer of inZOI has officially confirmed the removal of Denuvo DRM from the game. Over the last 24 hours, multiple reports surfaced indicating that the Creative Studio mode demo contained the anti-tamper software. Denuvo's presence in video games has long been a point of contention, with many communities and experts citing its potential negative impact on game performance.
This DRM and anti-tamper technology is designed to prevent the unauthorized copying and distribution of PC games, making it significantly harder for individuals to pirate the title and release cracked versions.
In a Steam blog post dated March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim addressed the community's concerns, stating that the upcoming Early Access version, scheduled for release on Friday, will ship without any DRM technology. "Our initial decision to implement Denuvo was driven by a desire to protect the game from illegal distribution. We believed it was a necessary step to ensure fairness for players who support the game through legitimate purchases. However, after carefully reviewing community feedback, we recognized that this measure was not in line with player expectations," explained Kjun.

He also apologized for failing to notify players in advance about Denuvo's inclusion in the Creative Studio mode. Kjun acknowledged that while removing the DRM could increase the risk of the game being cracked and distributed illegally, it would unlock inZOI's full potential for customization, granting players greater freedom to shape and build their own unique experiences. He stated, "We are convinced that providing this level of creative freedom from the start will foster innovation and deliver lasting enjoyment for our community."

inZOI has consistently emphasized the central role of modding in its design, which made the initial inclusion of Denuvo particularly confusing for players, as the software inherently complicates the process of adding mods and custom content.
Kjun reinforced this commitment, saying, "As discussed during our Online Showcase, our goal is to make inZOI an extensively moddable game. The first phase of our official mod support will launch in May, enabling players to use tools like Maya and Blender to design their own custom assets. This is just our starting point. We intend to progressively broaden mod support to cover more aspects of the game, allowing you to tailor and enrich your gameplay in countless ways."
He announced that a dedicated blog post with further details on the modding system would be released soon. Krafton remains dedicated to its player-first philosophy, actively listening to community input and making timely adjustments to guarantee a high-quality gaming experience.
inZOI is scheduled to enter Early Access on March 28, 2025, for PC. The full launch is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The specific release date for the full version has not yet been announced.
