The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.

In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay, specifically highlighting the need for significant improvements to the core gameplay loop and monster hunting mechanics. He stated directly: “We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience.”

Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer aims to showcase a more impactful and powerful monster-fighting experience, focusing on improved combat choreography and emotional intensity.

Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher games' combat and is actively addressing them, changes that will likely carry over to future installments featuring Ciri as the protagonist in the new trilogy.

Furthermore, developers plan to include Triss's wedding as a significant event. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally intended for Novigrad, saw Geralt assisting with preparations—clearing canals, acquiring alcohol, and selecting a gift. This storyline highlights Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage.
