Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series, their goal, as Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley stated in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, is to be "the European equivalent of that iconic studio."
This influence is evident in the development of both Quantum Break and Alan Wake 2. Rowley explicitly stated their aspiration to be "the European version of Naughty Dog."
Alan Wake 2's cinematic style, renowned for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative, showcases this inspiration. The game's success has cemented Remedy's position as a top European developer.
Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter being one of the most decorated franchises ever), serves as a clear benchmark.
Over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These include several improvements, most notably the optimization for the PS5 Pro. A new "Balanced" graphics option combines the best aspects of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also refined Alan Wake 2's graphic settings for a smoother frame rate and clearer visuals, while addressing minor bugs impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
