The game's development team boasts an impressive lineup of talent, including Ilya Kuvshinov, the character artist behind Ghost in the Shell, and rapper Lotus Juice, known for his contributions to Persona 3. Meguro, a veteran composer with Atlus since 1995, brings his signature musical style to this ambitious indie project. After a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2022, Guns Undarkness is poised for release.
Metal Gear Solid and Persona Inspired Gameplay
Guns Undarkness draws inspiration from classic titles like Metal Gear Solid and Persona, seamlessly integrating stealth mechanics with a robust turn-based combat system. Set in a dystopian 2045, players assume the role of a private military company operative, embarking on critical missions to uncover the secrets threatening humanity's survival.
The gameplay revolves around strategic stealth and tactical battles. Successfully navigating stealth sections provides a significant advantage in subsequent encounters. Turn-based combat utilizes a variety of firearms, demanding careful planning and execution.
The Steam Next Fest demo, launching February 24th, 2025, provides approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, covering tutorials and introducing core mechanics. Early Access is scheduled for Spring 2025, offering around 10 hours of playtime on PC. A precise release date is yet to be announced.
