Editor for Creating 2D Tiled Game Maps
TMEditor is a free tool for effortlessly designing map layouts. It is highly versatile, enabling you to define abstract elements like collision zones, enemy spawn points, and power-up locations. All this data is saved in a convenient, standardized .tmx format.
How Does TMEditor Work?
Fundamentally, the process of creating maps with TMEditor follows these key steps:
1. Select your map dimensions and base tile size.
2. Import tilesets from one or more images.
3. Arrange the tilesets across your map.
4. Add custom objects to represent abstract game elements.
5. Save your map as a .tmx file.
6. Import the .tmx file and interpret it for use in your game engine.
