A recent leak suggests Zenless Zone Zero's Version 1.5 update will include a surprising addition: a temporary event featuring a multiplayer platformer game mode, reminiscent of Fall Guys. This is slated for release in late January, alongside the anticipated arrival of new characters Astra Yao and Evelyn.
Version 1.4, released in early December, introduced two new playable characters and an S-Rank Bangboo, along with two permanent battle-focused modes. However, Zenless Zone Zero has a history of incorporating limited-time events with unique gameplay mechanics. The current "Bangboo vs Ethereal" event, for instance, offers a tower defense experience. This new leak points towards a similar approach for Version 1.5.
According to leaker Palito, the upcoming "Grand Marcel" event will feature this Fall Guys-inspired multiplayer platformer. Screenshots reveal stages strikingly similar to those in Fall Guys. While the leak doesn't specify whether players will control their usual characters or Bangboo, the event is expected to offer valuable rewards, including Polychromes and potentially additional free pulls (as previously rumored for Version 1.5).
A Familiar Formula from HoYoverse?
While a platformer mode would be a novel addition to Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse, the developer, has explored similar territory before. Honkai Impact 3rd's 6.1 update in 2022 featured the "Midnight Chronicle" event, a competitive platformer using chibi versions of existing characters. This precedent suggests Zenless Zone Zero might adopt a similar approach, potentially using chibi characters or even the popular Bangboo.
Version 1.5 Anticipation Builds
Scheduled for January 22nd, Version 1.5 is highly anticipated, bringing the playable characters Astra Yao and Evelyn. Previous leaks also hinted at Nicole's first character skin and a potential Agent Story for Ellen. The inclusion of this unexpected platformer event only adds to the excitement surrounding the update.
