How to Unlock Caldarus Events Gift Preferences

How to Unlock Caldarus as a Romanceable Character in Fields of Mistria

To embark on a romantic journey with Caldarus in Fields of Mistria, you must first break the Fire Seal located on Floor 60 of the mines. To do this, you'll need to offer four specific items: a Sealing Scroll, a Faceted Rock Gem, an Emerald, and a Rockroot. Once you complete this offering, a dramatic cutscene unfolds where the Mines Priestess warns you to leave or face being sealed yourself. As your health diminishes, Caldarus heroically intervenes, transforming into his human form, gifting you the Dragon’s Breath spell, and retreating to the Deep Woods. In this new guise, you can now interact with him, giving gifts and engaging in daily conversations akin to other romanceable NPCs in Mistria.

Post-Fire Seal, Caldarus can be found exclusively at his temple in the Deep Woods. To access this area permanently on your map, you'll need to utilize the Dragon’s Breath spell.

Caldarus’ Heart Events in Fields of Mistria

With the March 2025 update, Caldarus begins his romantic journey with a starting heart level of six, which is currently the cap. Unfortunately, there are no additional heart events available for Caldarus at this time, but future updates promise more. For now, you can enjoy two key cutscenes involving this majestic dragon. The first, a dream sequence at the game's outset, introduces Mistria’s magic system and gameplay mechanics. The second, more pivotal scene occurs after breaking the Fire Seal, where Caldarus rescues you from being sealed, revealing his human form before retreating to the Deep Woods to recuperate. Both scenes are integral to the game's narrative progression.

Following the update, you can initiate a special date with Caldarus during the Shooting Star Festival, which occurs on Summer 28.

The Shooting Star Festival marks the end of summer in Fields of Mistria, offering a unique opportunity to take any romanceable NPC with four hearts or more on a date to the Summit to watch the celestial spectacle. With Caldarus starting at six hearts, you're set to go on this date with him. To ensure your attendance, gift him the Star Brooch before 8 PM on Summer 28 and meet up afterward to start the event. This triggers a memorable cutscene of your date.
