Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report, the much-anticipated sequel, Control 2, has successfully cleared the concept validation stage and has now transitioned into full production. This marks a crucial milestone, indicating that the project is firmly on track for future release. Fans of the series can look forward to seeing more progress as development ramps up.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two other exciting projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the pre-production phase, but they have now progressed into full development. However, the project Kestrel, which was initially planned in partnership with Tencent, has been dropped from Remedy's lineup. The cancellation was announced back in May of the previous year.

All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight. This engine has already demonstrated its prowess in titles such as Alan Wake 2 and other successful Remedy projects, ensuring high-quality gameplay and visuals for the new games.

Financially, Control 2 has a budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is set to launch on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros. This title will be available through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The budget details for the Max Payne 1+2 remakes remain undisclosed, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level games. Both development and marketing costs for these remakes are entirely covered by Rockstar Games, ensuring a robust backing for these beloved titles.
