Project ETHOS: A Free-to-Play Roguelike Revolution

2K Games and 31st Union have joined forces to deliver Project ETHOS, a free-to-play hero shooter designed to redefine the genre. This fast-paced, third-person shooter masterfully combines the dynamic evolution of roguelikes with the unique abilities of distinct heroes.

What makes Project ETHOS stand out? It's the seamless integration of roguelike elements and hero shooter mechanics. Each hero boasts unique abilities, and randomized "Evolutions" dramatically alter their capabilities mid-match, demanding strategic adaptation. Transform your sniper into a close-quarters combatant, or turn a support hero into a solo powerhouse – the possibilities are endless!

Project ETHOS offers two core game modes:

Trials: This signature mode challenges teams of three against human and AI opponents. Collect Cores, strategically choose when to extract, and use your earnings to unlock upgrades for future runs. Death means losing your Cores, so survival is key! Matches can be joined in progress, offering a dynamic and unpredictable experience. Check the remaining match time before joining.

Gauntlet: A classic competitive PvP tournament mode. Battle through brackets, upgrading your hero with each victory, until only one team remains. Elimination means waiting for the next round.

Level up by collecting XP shards, eliminating enemies, and completing random events scattered across the map.

How to Participate in the Project ETHOS Playtest

Project ETHOS embraces community feedback, regularly updating the game with new content and improvements. The playtest, running from October 17th to 21st, is currently available to players in select regions (United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy). Gain access by watching participating Twitch streams for 30 minutes to receive a playtest key, or register on the official website for future playtest opportunities.

Server maintenance will occur during these times:

North America: October 17th: 10 AM – 11 PM PT; October 18th-20th: 11 AM – 11 PM PT

Europe: October 17th: 6 PM - 1 AM GMT+1; October 18th-21st: 1 PM - 1 AM GMT+1
