Nintendo Clarifies: Mockup Is Unofficial

In response to the swirling rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 at CES 2025, Nintendo has made it clear to CNET Japan and the Japanese newspaper Sankei that "these images and videos are not official." They further emphasized that the gaming hardware Genki claimed to be the Switch 2 was never provided by Nintendo.

At CES 2025, Genki grabbed headlines by unveiling a 3D-printed mockup of the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Not only did they showcase this model, but they also suggested to journalists and attendees that they possessed a "real" Switch 2, along with a supposed release date.

Genki, known for its array of accessories for electronics and video game consoles including controllers, portable SSDs, and chargers, has even dedicated a section on their website to Nintendo Switch 2 accessories. This section features a highly detailed animated mockup of the console.

However, Nintendo has yet to make any significant announcements about the upcoming console, only stating that news about it will be forthcoming.
