Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer!

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, which also reintroduced the classic Cluster Clinger. December's festivities continue with the return of Winterfest, complete with seasonal quests, fun items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and exciting new skins featuring Mariah Carey and other iconic characters.

Fortnite's Winterfest event blankets the island in snow, offering players a host of challenges and rewards. The Cozy Cabin is brimming with goodies, and the premium skin lineup includes Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday cheer, Fortnite continues its string of collaborations, this time with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja, among others. The OG mode also receives a significant update.

A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode marks a significant return for nostalgic players. The update brings back the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 favorite, offering a classic traversal option before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility enhancements. This allows players strategic aerial maneuvers for offensive or defensive plays.

Fortnite's Revival of Classic Weapons and Items

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The Hunting Rifle (originally from Chapter 3) makes a comeback, providing long-range combat options, particularly appreciated by players who miss the sniper rifles removed in Chapter 6, Season 1. The Cluster Clinger (Chapter 5) also returns, available in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

Fortnite's OG mode continues its impressive run, attracting 1.1 million players within the first two hours of its launch. Alongside the mode's resurgence, Epic Games launched an OG Item Shop, featuring classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
