Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC Specs Demand High-End Hardware for 4K

Square Enix has released updated PC specifications for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, highlighting the need for powerful hardware, especially for 4K gaming. Just two weeks before the PC launch, the updated requirements reveal that a high-end graphics card with 12-16GB VRAM is recommended for 4K resolution.

The game will leverage DLSS upscaling, Shader Model 6.6, and DirectX 12 Ultimate. This PC release follows the PS5 launch and a subsequent PS5 Pro enhancement patch. Unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake, however, Rebirth will not receive any initial DLC; Square Enix is focusing on Part 3 of the Remake project.

While some initial PC specs were shared previously, Square Enix clarified that 12-16GB VRAM is crucial for 4K gameplay. The minimum and recommended specs remain largely consistent with earlier announcements, requiring a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 OS, 155GB SSD space, and 16GB RAM. Recommended CPU choices include the Ryzen 5 5600 or higher, while GPU requirements start at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (or equivalent AMD/Intel card), with higher-end cards strongly suggested for optimal 4K performance.

Important Notes: 12-16GB GPU VRAM is strongly recommended for 4K, and Shader Model 6.6 and DirectX 12 Ultimate support are mandatory. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi previously highlighted the PC port's superior lighting, shaders, and textures. While Steam Deck compatibility was mentioned, no further updates have been provided. The PC launch is set for January 23rd.
