Square Enix has officially announced the PC launch of the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI on September 17th. This announcement signals a potential shift towards simultaneous multi-platform releases for future installments, as hinted by the director.
The PC version will be available for $49.99, with a Complete Edition at $69.99, including the "Echoes of the Fallen" and "The Rising Tide" expansions. A playable demo is now available, featuring the prologue and an "Eikonic Challenge" combat mode. Demo progress carries over to the full game.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Director Hiroshi Takai highlighted the PC version's enhanced capabilities, stating, "we've increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can choose from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
