Trump Tariffs Hit Razer Gaming Laptops

US tariffs introduced during the Trump administration continue to affect American gamers, with Razer's Blade 16 laptop now facing availability issues.
Import tariffs function as taxes levied on foreign goods. Though companies sometimes absorb these costs, they typically get passed down to consumers. Gamers may particularly feel the pinch as these price increases often target technology and gaming products.
Several retailers have temporarily halted sales of affected items. According to The Verge, while Razer initially listed the Blade 16 for US purchase until April 1, the laptop has since vanished from the company's American online storefront.
European customers can currently order the new gaming laptop (when available - UK stock shows as depleted), while the US site only offers a "Notify Me" option without displayed pricing. Attempting to access the purchase page redirects to a 404 error.
Razer isn't alone in quietly adjusting sales strategies. Tariffs impacting Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturing - hubs for PC components - prompted companies like Micron to warn about potential price hikes. Framework has temporarily suspended certain US sales entirely.
Recently, Nintendo removed Switch 2 pre-order listings originally slated for April 9 after Trump-era tariffs disrupted financial markets. The situation extended to Canada, where Nintendo confirmed delays in pre-order availability.
Industry analysts express concern that Nintendo might further increase both console and software pricing beyond initial projections, despite consumer pushback following the Switch 2's announcement.
