Dredge's mobile release delayed until February 2025, but a new closed beta is now open!
Fans eagerly anticipating the mobile port of Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian fishing horror, Dredge, will need to wait a bit longer. The release has been pushed back to February 2025. However, to soften the blow, Black Salt Games has opened sign-ups for a new closed beta test.
In Dredge, players become a fisherman in the eerie town of Greater Marrow. Initially, the work is simple – catching and selling fish. But the waters hold far more than just ordinary catches. Strange creatures, mysterious beings, and unsettling events on a nearby island threaten to unravel your sanity.
Interested in participating in the closed beta? Sign up via this Google Form. The delay is understandable, considering the game's rich world and the complexities of a mobile port. However, given Dredge's numerous awards and critical acclaim, the wait will likely be worthwhile for those who haven't experienced it yet.
A challenging fishing adventure
Having played the PC version, I can attest to the challenges of adapting Dredge to mobile. The game's extensive world requires significant work for a successful port. The additional closed beta is a smart move, allowing for valuable player feedback before the official launch. This ensures a polished and enjoyable experience for mobile players.
