Less than 24 hours remain until the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, where Nintendo will unveil its strategy for the next-generation console. A recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing may offer early clues about these plans, specifically regarding the Switch 2 controller lineup.

Spotted on Famiboards and reported by Nintendo-focused outlets like GoNintendo, an FCC submission from Nintendo appeared on March 31. The product, listed under the code "BEE-008," appears to be a new game controller registration. Many speculate this could be the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.

This remains speculative, as Nintendo has not officially confirmed a Switch 2 Pro Controller. However, certain features—such as Bluetooth and NFC support—strongly suggest a Pro Controller model.

If this filing does refer to the Switch 2 Pro Controller, one major feature could be the inclusion of a headphone jack. While the original Switch Pro Controller lacked this option, competing models like the DualSense and Xbox Series controllers do include an audio port.

This would enhance the user experience significantly, if confirmed. Previous FCC filings have accurately previewed Nintendo's product plans, lending some credibility to the speculation. But with no official images or details yet, a clearer picture will likely emerge during Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct.

The Switch 2 Direct begins tomorrow at 6am PT / 9am ET across Nintendo’s official platforms. Viewers can expect a more detailed look at the console after its initial reveal earlier this year, along with solid details—and possibly a release window.

Nintendo has confirmed the event will run for one hour. Additionally, two Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay sessions are scheduled for April 3 and April 4, both starting at 7am PT.
