Delta Force pre-orders now open for Android and iOS

Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, blending diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay approach.

For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military special forces unit, the series has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgets.

Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the series. The game features a Warfare mode offering large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, and an Operations mode embracing the extraction shooter style. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, and based on the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.

Addressing the Cheating Issue

Despite the anticipation, Delta Force hasn't been without its share of controversy. The persistent problem of cheating in online shooters has raised concerns, with Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures—including hardware restrictions for the PC version—drawing criticism.

While the mobile platform may offer less opportunity for cheating, the PC-related controversy might still impact the game's overall reception. However, the mobile release could still prove successful.
