To boost your combat prowess, upgrading your weapons and accessories is crucial. This process not only enhances base stats but also allows the addition of modules for further improvements.

You can start upgrading your weapons and accessories early in the game, without waiting for mission rewards or enemy drops. This guide will walk you through the process of upgrading your weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

To begin upgrading your weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered, you'll need to advance in the main story until you achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. Once you're a CODE 2 Sinner, you'll unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Head to the Weapon Development Facility to manage your arsenal. Upgrading requires specific resources and Entitlement Points, but you can lower these costs by recruiting a Citizen. Different Citizens offer varying reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. It might seem complex at first, but you'll find the system easy to navigate once you get started.

Before you commit to an upgrade, you'll be shown a preview of how your weapon's stats will change. The Weapon Development Facility also lets you add Elements and experiment with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate your weapon to a higher Grade, you'll need to buy the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

In the early stages of the main story, missions don't typically yield high-Grade weapons. While you can buy weapons and other combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most are capped at Grade Level 1, making upgrades nearly indispensable. One of your CODE 3 Exams will require you to obtain higher Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing you to upgrade any weapon you prefer and keep it as your go-to gear. You can then donate any Low-Grade weapons you find during missions to reduce your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.

The first upgrade at the Weapon Development Facility also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with more achievements linked to the upgrading system, making it a must-do for trophy hunters. The significant damage difference between weapons of different Grades makes investing time in upgrading your gear highly rewarding.

Later in the game, you'll also gain access to the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, further enhancing your gameplay experience.
