Clash Royale's research shows a decline in Christmas card popularity: Six out of ten adults receive fewer cards, and a surprising 79% are indifferent. Over 40% even hope this trend continues into 2024.
Capitalizing on this "festive fatigue," Clash Royale is hosting a London pop-up event at Boxpark Shoreditch. Attendees can shred unwanted Christmas cards in exchange for in-game rewards – a fun, guilt-free alternative to discarding them.
But the anti-Christmas sentiment extends beyond cards. Clash Royale's research also revealed that 20% of people dislike Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and over 20% have publicly complained about Christmas music or opted for beef instead of turkey.
The anti-Christmas spirit even reaches Clash Royale's content creators. YouTubers like Orange Juice Gaming are receiving humorous, awful gifts (socks, oven mitts, nail clippers) packaged in custom Clash Royale wrapping paper containing in-game rewards for fans.
