If you pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll unlock a thrilling bonus quest called The Lion’s Crest, which comes with some fantastic rewards. Here’s your guide on how to start and complete this intriguing quest.
Once you've completed the tutorial in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and entered the open world, head to Troskowitz to speak with the scribe Gaibl. This conversation will kick off The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will present you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials yourself and use a blacksmith’s forge to craft this weapon.
The riddle you'll need to solve is:
“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”
Start at Trosky Castle, where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through the northern gates and continue heading north into the forest.
Follow the road and keep an eye on the left side for rocky formations with crevices you can walk through. You'll soon find a cave with a chapel inside. Examine the cross on the rock next to the chapel to discover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour and two treasure maps to guide you further in your quest.
Continue along the road from the chapel, heading west until you reach a crossroads. Turn north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Look for the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.
The second map directs you to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and search for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb up to the rocks to find a chest next to a cross.
For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head to the tavern, then leave the settlement. Cross the two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second bridge, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill and examine the large tree at the top to find some bones and a bag with the armour.
The fourth and final map leads you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. On the hill, look for rocks with a cross on top to find the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
And that's how you start and complete The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For more tips and information on the game, including all romance options and the best perks to get first, be sure to check out The Escapist.
