Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. While initially providing character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature direct interactions via Elemental Effects. This update introduces new Echo sets and character reworks, enhancing strategic depth.
Elemental Effects: Status Effects and Debuffs
Elemental Effects, previously limited to enemy application, now impact players directly. Each element boasts a unique status effect:
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically (max 2). At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack (max 10 stacks). At 10 stacks, freezes the resonator; players can "Struggle" to hasten thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks decrease to deal Spectro DMG over time. More stacks = more DMG. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10 (unless removed). At 10 stacks, explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal DMG; more stacks = more DMG over time. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%). |
Dodging removes all effect stacks.
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets Utilizing Elemental Effects
Version 2.0's impact on Elemental Effects is currently limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets interact with them:
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
Currently, only the reworked Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 storyline) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle and a Shimmer effect, preventing stack decay, allowing sustained Spectro Frazzle buildup.
Echoes and Echo Sets:
Only the Eternal Radiance Echo Set (and its Nightmare Echo) currently synergizes with Elemental Effects, primarily benefiting Spectro Rover:
While the system is currently niche, it suggests future expansions of Elemental Effect utilization in Wuthering Waves.
