Witcher Former Devs' Upcoming Dark Fantasy Action RPG To Be Published by Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio founded by key figures from The Witcher 3, for the global release of their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker.

This exciting collaboration brings together Rebel Wolves' experienced team and Bandai Namco's publishing prowess. Dawnwalker, a story-driven AAA action RPG set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. Expect further reveals about Dawnwalker in the coming months. Established in 2022, Rebel Wolves aims to redefine the RPG experience with its narrative focus.

Bandai Namco views Dawnwalker as a valuable addition to its portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, commented, "This partnership marks a significant step in our Western market strategy. By combining our strengths, we'll deliver this debut title to a global audience."

Leading the charge as creative director is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, who joined Rebel Wolves earlier this year. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, a nine-year CDPR veteran, confirms Dawnwalker as a new franchise with a scope comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, boasting a more non-linear narrative.

Tomaszkiewicz shared his vision earlier this year, stating, "Our goal is to create an experience that offers diverse choices and encourages experimentation upon replay. Collaborating with such talented individuals to craft this experience is a privilege, and I can't wait for everyone to see the team's hard work."
