Unlocking the Best Booster Packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket: A Strategic Guide
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers three booster packs from the Genetic Apex set: Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu. This guide prioritizes which packs to open first for optimal deck building and overall success.
Which Booster Packs Should You Open First?
Undeniably, the Charizard pack takes top priority. It offers not only the powerful Charizard Ex for a high-damage Fire-type deck but also Sabrina, the game's best Supporter card. This pack also includes valuable cards like Starmie Ex, Kangaskhan, Greninja, Erika, and Blaine, providing crucial components for various deck strategies.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Pack Priority List:
Here's the recommended order for opening your booster packs:
Charizard: Maximize your chances of obtaining versatile, high-impact cards usable across multiple decks.
Mewtwo: Focus on building a strong Psychic deck centered around Mewtwo Ex and the Gardevoir line. These cards are powerful but less versatile than those in the Charizard pack.
Pikachu: While the Pikachu Ex deck currently dominates the meta, its cards are less adaptable to different deck types. With the introduction of Promo Mankey, the Pikachu Ex meta's longevity is questionable. Prioritize acquiring versatile cards first, then use Pack Points or open this pack later to fill any gaps.
Important Note: While this prioritization guides your initial pack openings, completing secret missions will eventually require opening all three packs. However, starting with the Charizard pack ensures you acquire essential and widely applicable cards early in your gameplay.
