Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, originally titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a name change and a new platform. Now known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, it's coming to Nintendo Switch, in addition to its previously announced platforms.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon launch on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, and something is terribly wrong. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined to annihilate humanity, has seized control, and only you can stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of the crew and immersing yourself in the richly detailed narrative and environment.
Nightdive Studios confirmed that a release date and new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
