Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the anime series, will cease operation on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight story, Revue Starlight Re LIVE struggled to maintain player engagement. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Unpopular narrative shifts, such as the abrupt character change from The Giraffe, further alienated players. The shutdown impacts the game globally, including Japan.
Positive Aspects
Despite its shortcomings, the game boasted a positive soundtrack featuring music from the anime, and impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
Although its lifespan is nearing its end, developers are offering players a chance to enjoy the game's remaining weeks. August and September will see several new campaigns, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign providing ten free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events. Download the game from the Google Play Store before it's too late.
