Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.

Two Months Remain

With the shutdown date approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Point exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched in June 2020, the global server's four-year run is concluding. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, the game received mixed player reception. Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates such as the Solistia region and 6-star unit upgrades, a year-long absence that contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately, the server closure.

Community Feedback

Square Enix, the developer, has already shut down several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.

Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa series, offers players two remaining months of gameplay. Those interested in experiencing the game before its closure can download it from the Google Play Store.
