SoMoGa Inc. has brought back the classic 16-bit RPG Vay with a stunning revamped version now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD by Hertz and later localized for the US by Working Designs, this nostalgic gem was re-released by SoMoGa on iOS in 2008, preserving its timeless appeal.
The revamped Vay introduces over 100 enemies and a dozen epic bosses for players to conquer. Dive into more than 90 unique areas, each brimming with adventure. One of the standout features is the user-selectable difficulty levels, allowing you to tailor your gaming experience to your skill level.
The game now includes an auto-save feature, ensuring you never lose progress. Additionally, Vay revamped supports Bluetooth controllers, offering versatile play options. As you progress, you can purchase new gear and items, and as your characters level up, they will learn new spells. An innovative AI system also enables characters to battle autonomously, adding depth to the gameplay.
Set in a distant galaxy, Vay unfolds in the aftermath of a millennium-long interstellar war. A massive machine with a malfunctioning guidance system crashes into the technologically primitive planet Vay, unleashing chaos and destruction.
In Vay, you embark on a heroic quest to rescue your kidnapped wife and possibly save the entire world. The story begins on your wedding day when your peaceful kingdom is attacked, and your bride is abducted. This sets you on an epic journey across the planet to halt the rampaging war machines.
The narrative of Vay captivates from the outset, blending nostalgia with fresh elements. Staying true to its JRPG origins, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available with both English and Japanese audio, enhancing the storytelling experience.
You can experience the revamped Vay on the Google Play Store as a premium title for $5.99. While you're there, don't forget to check out our other news, including the Loving Reveries Update in Tears of Themis, where you can unlock love and goodies.
