A wealth of updates was shared for Disney Lorcana, and we’ve got the full breakdown to keep you in the loop.

While much about Fabled remains under wraps, the Disney Lorcana team’s teasers are building anticipation for its pre-release on August 29 and full launch on September 5.
A Goofy Movie will be a major highlight of Fabled, though the team hasn’t revealed which specific cards will be included. They did confirm that Mickey and Minnie will debut as the first Iconic Cards.
Iconic Cards will be the rarest in Disney Lorcana, with only two featured per set moving forward. Stunning Mickey and Minnie carousel cards will be the coveted Iconic Cards players chase for their collections.
Epic Cards, rarer than Legendary but less elusive than Enchanted or Iconic, will also debut, showcasing unique artwork and foil finishes, offering players more opportunities to snag special cards like a new Elsa (Snow Queen).
Fabled will also introduce card rotation, making certain cards ineligible for competitive play. The Core Constructed format for top-tier competition will exclude cards from the first four sets.

Fans of older cards need not worry, as alternative formats like Infinity Constructed will allow their use. Fabled will also reprint select cards from earlier sets, such as Winnie the Pooh (Hunny Wizard), which will remain legal for competitive play.
“Rotating out older cards keeps the competitive scene dynamic, encouraging fresh strategies and deck builds,” said Ryan Miller, Brand Manager and Co-Designer of Disney Lorcana TCG at Ravensburger. “Since we know early set cards are key to many players’ strategies and not everyone secured their favorites in year one, we’re reprinting select cards in Fabled, including Enchanted versions of fan favorites.”
For newcomers eager to dive into Lorcana, a new Collection Starter Set was announced, offering an accessible entry point to the trading card game.
This set includes four Fabled booster packs, a Tinker Bell (Giant Fairy) "Glimmer Foil" Promo Card, a card portfolio featuring Mickey Mouse (Brave Little Tailor), and a collector’s guide.

As previously noted, Reign of Jafar, the eighth set, will hit pre-release on May 30 and full release on June 6.
Reign of Jafar continues Lorcana’s ongoing narrative centered on the Disney villain. The team shared a glimpse of what’s in store.
“Jafar now wields the Hexwell Crown, twisting Archazia’s Island to his sinister will,” the official description states. “In Reign of Jafar, traps and illusions run rampant, and glimmers like Jasmine – Steady Strategist and Rapunzel – High Climber must unite to reclaim the crown and defeat the cunning vizier.”

Alongside Reign of Jafar, Illumineers’ Quest: Palace Heist offers a new “co-op experience-in-a-box,” enabling up to four players to team up against Jafar and his minion.
Card highlights include Bambi (Prince of the Forest), Flower (Shy Skunk), Thumper (Young Bunny), Jafar (High Sultan of Lorcana), Magic Carpet (Phantom Rug), Aladdin (Vigilant Guard), and more.

Disney revealed that Whispers in the Well, the set following Fabled, will arrive in Q4 2025. While details are scarce, key art showcased Mickey, Ariel, and hinted at Disney Gargoyles joining Lorcana, along with a new Glimmer type.
Looking further ahead, the team confirmed that Darkwing Duck, a fan-favorite, will join Lorcana in 2026, answering long-standing community requests.
The competitive scene is heating up with the Disney Lorcana World Championship, scheduled for June 28 and 29 at Walt Disney World. Players worldwide will vie for the title of the first-ever Disney Lorcana TCG World Champion.
Fans can watch live on Twitch.TV/DisneyLorcana, with commentary from casters including Rebekah (RebekahQuests), Baker (LorcanaVillain), Liam (The Illumiteers), Brandon (Bsquared24), and JD (JDZ Quest). A non-foil ‘A Whole New World’ promo card will also be available, with more details to come.
