EA's highly anticipated free-to-play skateboarding game, skate. (stylized as skate.), is now open for console playtesting! Find out how to join the fun below.
Announced back in June 2020, with glimpses revealed over the years, skate. is finally ready for its console playtest on PlayStation and Xbox. While a PC beta date remains unconfirmed, fans can register as Insiders to receive updates.
According to the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account, console playtesting has been underway since at least December, possibly even September, as highlighted in recent videos. However, developer Full Circle actively encourages new sign-ups as development continues.
To participate in the beta, visit EA's official website, navigate to the skate. page, and register for Skate Insider Playtesting. Beyond early access to the game, Insiders will also receive exclusive in-game rewards, including a unique skateboard and stickers, upon the Early Access launch.
skate. is slated for Early Access release sometime in 2025. This marks the franchise's return after nearly a decade since Skate 3, landing on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, this free-to-play, live-service game promises an "authentic evolution" of the nearly 20-year-old series, as detailed in a previous Full Circle YouTube interview.
