Marvel Rivals Unveils "The Maker," a New Mister Fantastic Skin

A new skin for Mister Fantastic, dubbed "The Maker," has been showcased by Marvel Rivals. This exciting new cosmetic will debut alongside the character himself on January 10th, with the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls.

The Maker skin depicts an alternate, villainous Reed Richards from the Ultimate universe. His appearance reflects a darker, more sinister persona, featuring a mask concealing much of his face – a consequence of injuries sustained in battle. This aligns with the game's trend of introducing villainous variants, as Invisible Woman will also receive a malicious skin, "Malice."

The Maker skin boasts a striking black and gray design, accented by a glowing blue circle on the chest and back. A slate-colored mask, incorporating a blue visor, further enhances the character's menacing look. Gameplay footage reveals the suit's dynamic properties, stretching and adapting as Mister Fantastic utilizes his abilities.

Beyond The Maker: More Skins and Season 1 Content

While NetEase Games continues to regularly announce new skins, dataminers have unearthed additional unreleased cosmetics. A Lunar New Year skin for Spider-Man is among the leaked assets, hinting at future releases. Cosmetics for Hulk, Scarlet Witch, and Doctor Strange have also been discovered. While release dates remain unconfirmed, many fans anticipate their inclusion in the Season 1 battle pass.

Season 1: Eternal Night Falls promises a wealth of new content. A new game mode, "Doom Match," a chaotic 8-12 player free-for-all with a top 50% victory condition, will be introduced. Character balance adjustments, including buffs and nerfs, are also planned. A dark, ominous version of New York City will be added as a new map, adding to the overall atmosphere of the update.
