Marvel Snap Blocked in US Amid TikTok Restrictions

Marvel Snap, developed by California-based Second Dinner and published by ByteDance's Nuverse, was unexpectedly removed from iOS and Android platforms on January 18, 2025. This ban, impacting other ByteDance apps like CapCut and Lemon8, left many players frustrated, particularly due to the lack of prior warning. While players express concerns about authorization issues, the game remains accessible on Steam for PC users.

Second Dinner has publicly acknowledged the situation, assuring players via Platform X that Marvel Snap's removal is temporary and that they are actively working to restore the game's availability. Their statement emphasized their commitment to resolving the issue and keeping players updated.

The abrupt removal is especially problematic for players who continued making in-app purchases unaware of the impending ban. Interestingly, not all ByteDance apps were affected; games like Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground remain playable.
