NetEase Games has unveiled exciting updates for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, titled "Eternal Night Falls," set to launch on January 10 at 1 AM PST. The season will introduce Dracula as the main villain, adding a thrilling new narrative arc to the game. Fans can also look forward to the addition of The Fantastic Four to the roster, with Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman joining at the season's start, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later.
The battle pass for Season 1 will be priced at 990 Lattice, equivalent to $10, and will feature 10 skins. As players progress through the pass, they will earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units, enhancing their in-game experience. Alongside the battle pass, Season 1 will introduce three new maps and a new game mode called Doom Match, promising fresh challenges and gameplay dynamics.
In terms of balancing, Season 1 will bring significant changes to the game's hero dynamics. Hela and Hawkeye, who have been dominant in Season 0, will receive nerfs to address their overpowering presence, particularly in higher ranks where they were frequently banned. On the other hand, mobility-based Vanguards like Captain America and Venom will be buffed to improve their performance in battle.
Further balancing adjustments will extend to other characters. Wolverine and Storm will receive buffs to encourage their use in specific strategies, responding to community calls for enhancements. Cloak and Dagger will also see improvements to enhance their versatility across different team compositions. Additionally, Jeff the Land Shark will undergo changes to better align his early warning signals with his ultimate's hit box, addressing player feedback about its perceived overpowered nature.
While NetEase Games did not comment on the Seasonal Bonus feature, it remains a topic of interest among the player base. Many fans are eager to see how these changes will impact the game's balance and are excited to dive into the new season at launch.
