In a recent official statement, NetEase Games has declared that players utilizing keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while engaging in Marvel Rivals will face account suspension. This measure stems from the company's view that such adapters provide an unfair advantage, attributed to the enhanced control sensitivity and the continued use of aiming assistance features.
Devices such as the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper are specifically named as culprits. These tools simulate gamepad inputs from keyboard and mouse, granting users a substantial edge in competitive gameplay, particularly when auto-targeting is enabled.
NetEase has clarified their stance, stating, “We define adapters as devices or programs that emulate gamepad control using a keyboard and mouse. This creates an imbalance in the game, especially in competitive modes.” To enforce this policy, the company has deployed advanced detection tools that can identify adapter use with high precision, resulting in immediate account blocks upon detection of violations.
On another note, players have observed that higher frame rates (FPS) in Marvel Rivals correlate with increased ping times. While this effect might be less pronounced for players with lower ping, a jump to 150 ms from a usual 90 ms can severely impact gameplay. This issue appears to be linked to frame rate. As a temporary solution, gamers are advised to await a forthcoming patch that could address this. In the meantime, maintaining an FPS around 90 is suggested, which, although it might seem low for games like Counter-Strike 2, is currently optimal for Marvel Rivals.
