Even a year and a half after its release, fans of *Baldur's Gate 3* are still deeply immersed in their multiple playthroughs, showcasing the game's enduring appeal. However, with developer Larian Studios stepping away from the franchise, the future of *Baldur's Gate* now lies in the hands of Hasbro. Fortunately, it seems we won't have to wait long for updates on what's next for the series.

During a recent conversation with IGN at the Game Developers Conference, Dan Ayoub, Hasbro's Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Licensing, expressed that there is significant interest in *Baldur's Gate* from various parties now that Larian has moved on. "We're kind of working out our plans for the future and what we're going to be doing with that," Ayoub stated. He hinted that Hasbro will share more details about these plans very soon.

While Ayoub remained tight-lipped about specifics, he did mention that the upcoming announcements could range from a new *Baldur's Gate* game to other types of projects, such as crossovers similar to those seen with *Magic: The Gathering*. He expressed a desire for a *Baldur's Gate 4* but acknowledged that creating such a game would take time. "It's somewhat of an unenviable position," he remarked, emphasizing a measured approach to future developments. "We're not in a hurry. Right? That's the thing, we're going to take a very measured approach."

Ayoub also highlighted the pressure to ensure the next *Baldur's Gate* installment meets high expectations, which influences other Dungeons & Dragons-related projects as well. "I'm never one to shy down from a challenge," he said, noting that such pressure pushes creative boundaries and encourages developers to aim higher.

In addition to discussing *Baldur's Gate*, Ayoub touched on various other topics during the interview, including *Magic: The Gathering*, Hasbro's partnership with Saber Interactive, and the company's broader game strategy. Stay tuned for the full interview, which will be available next week.
