A Record-Breaking Unboxing Livestream

The Pokémon Company International shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest unboxing livestream on November 26, 2024, celebrating the launch of the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion.

The event, streamed live on Pokémon's Twitch channel, featured prominent figures like Serebii's Joe Merrick, PokeGirl Ranch, and Mayplaystv. Over 24 hours, this trio opened over 1,500 booster packs and other Pokémon products, resulting in over 20,000 cards, as reported by the official Pokémon press release.

Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, expressed his pride in this accomplishment: “It's been an incredible 24 hours of pack opening, and we’re thrilled to have achieved this ambitious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title with such an amazing team.”

While the livestream concluded, the celebrations continue! The Pokémon press release promises additional giveaways on participating content creators' channels in the coming weeks. The amassed cards will be organized and donated to charities like Barnardo’s in the UK.

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks

Released on November 8, 2024, the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion transports players to the Terarium, a key location in Pokémon SV's The Indigo Disk: DLC Part 2. This expansion introduces Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, including the defensively powerful Archaludon ex.

Iconic Dragon-type Pokémon like Palkia, Dialga, Eternatus, Alolan Exeggutor ex, and Tatsugiri ex also feature prominently. Tropical vibes abound with illustration rare and special illustration rare cards featuring Alolan Dugtrio and Feebas, showcasing serene ocean scenes.
