Gran Saga to close its doors next month

Grand Saga is shutting down on April 30th, 2025, ending its brief international run. In-app purchases are already disabled, and players have until May 30th to request refunds for past purchases (though success isn't guaranteed depending on usage and store policies).

Launched in Japan in 2021 to considerable success, the global version, released in November 2024, lasted less than six months. Financial instability and the challenges of competing in a saturated global market are cited as the reasons for closure. Established gacha RPGs with dedicated player bases create a highly competitive landscape, making it difficult for newcomers to succeed without a truly unique selling point. The game's initial Japanese success failed to translate internationally.

This closure reflects a broader trend of gacha RPG shutdowns. The competitive mobile gaming market makes it difficult for many titles to survive long-term.
