The demo features a different protagonist than the Nameless Hero – a fellow prisoner from the Miners' Valley. Developers have meticulously recreated iconic elements while updating the visuals. Separately, THQ Nordic revealed that a free Gothic 1 Remake demo, launching February 24th, will offer Niras' prologue, powered by Unreal Engine 5.

This demo is a standalone experience, not included in the final game. It serves as a showcase for the game's world, mechanics, and atmosphere. Players will control Niras, a convict in the Colony, exploring freely. This prequel acts as a prelude to Gothic 1, enriching the backstory of the Nameless Hero's legendary quest.
