Farlight debuts Ace Trainer with soft launch

Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, has a new contender in the mobile gaming arena: Ace Trainer. Currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US, this game blends several popular genres in an intriguing, if potentially overwhelming, way.

Ace Trainer features creature collection, training, and leveling, reminiscent of popular monster-catching games. However, Farlight adds a unique twist: instead of traditional turn-based battles, players deploy their creatures in a tower defense-style fight against zombie hordes. Adding another layer of complexity, pinball mechanics are integrated for resource gathering.

This eclectic mix of gameplay elements – PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball – raises questions about long-term viability. While individually popular, the sheer number of mechanics might prove challenging to balance and maintain player engagement. The extensive soft launch across multiple regions suggests Farlight is optimistic about Ace Trainer's potential, but whether it will achieve global success remains to be seen.
