While not the fastest CPU available, its performance is more than sufficient for gaming, as gaming performance is primarily GPU-dependent. Note that the motherboard uses DDR4 RAM, which is currently more affordable than DDR5, making future RAM upgrades cost-effective. However, upgrading to DDR5 would require a motherboard replacement.
