Bend Studio, the developer behind Days Gone, remains committed to creating exciting new games, despite Sony's recent cancellation of their unannounced live-service title. This cancellation, along with another at Bluepoint Games (reportedly a live-service God of War game), follows a string of setbacks for Sony's live-service initiatives. While Helldivers 2 achieved phenomenal success, other ventures, notably Concord, faced disastrous launches and swift closures. This led to Sony's acknowledgment of organizational issues and flawed release strategies during recent financial calls. Sony executives highlighted the need for earlier user testing and internal evaluations, along with improved inter-studio collaboration to avoid future failures and optimize release windows. Despite these challenges, Bend Studio's community manager assured fans that the studio will continue developing new projects. The studio's last release was Days Gone in 2019 (PC release in 2021). Sony's future live-service plans include titles from Bungie (Marathon), Guerrilla (Horizon Online), and Haven Studios (*Fairgame$).
