Running a livestock farm in *Fields of Mistria* can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting each animal can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, there's a solution: an auto-petter mod! While the base game doesn't offer this feature, modding opens up exciting possibilities.

The *Fields of Mistria* vanilla game requires daily petting of your livestock. However, the Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods provides an auto-petting function, along with automatic feeding. Crucially, you'll also need the Mods of Mistria Installer—it's essential for the mod to work.
Here's how to install the mod:
The Animal Friends mod offers several customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier boosts the hearts your animals gain, while the loss prevention feature ensures those hearts remain.
To adjust settings, locate the AnimalFriends.json file within the extracted mod folder. This text file allows you to enable or disable features. Change "false" to "true" to activate, and vice-versa to deactivate. The friendship multiplier uses numerical values (1-100), with 100 disabling bonding and 1 disabling the multiplier.
The mod's default settings initially disable auto-petting and auto-feeding, but it does multiply heart gains from petting by five and automatically activates friendship loss prevention.
To remove the mod, use the Mods of Mistria Installer's uninstall function to avoid save file corruption. Always back up your save file before installing any mods.
