The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 concluded this past weekend, marking a thrilling end to the latest PUBG Mobile esports tournament. Team Yangon Galacticos emerged victorious, clinching the title and the lion's share of the $20,000 prize pool. Their triumph was largely due to their overwhelming points lead, showcasing their dominance throughout the competition.

The PMRC Rondo Cup was held on PUBG's newest and largest map to date, Rondo. This map hosted 16 teams who earned their spots through various qualifying tournaments, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall. The tournament also introduced the innovative SMASH format rules, which required a team to accumulate 30+ points and then secure a victory in a different match to win. However, since no team managed to meet these criteria after six matches, Yangon Galacticos were crowned champions based on their impressive points tally.

Arondo the worldWith HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports securing the second and third spots respectively, the Rondo Cup has undoubtedly been a success for PUBG Mobile and their ambitious esports initiatives, which have been on an upward trajectory since 2024. It's worth noting the irony that the first tournament to introduce the SMASH rule didn't see a winner under this new format. Whether this rule will return in future events will depend on the organizers' assessment of its impact on promoting skilled and entertaining gameplay.

For dedicated PUBG Mobile fans looking for a change of pace from intense shooting, consider exploring other gaming options. The latest edition of Ahead of the Game features the upcoming tower defense game, Sushimon, which might offer a refreshing break from the usual high-octane action.
