Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members now have a thrilling new perk at their fingertips: the ability to stream select games directly to their Xbox consoles without the hassle of downloading. This exciting update was announced today via an Xbox Wire news post, detailing that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream games from the Game Pass catalog, along with certain games they own, on their Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles using cloud streaming technology.

Previously, this feature was accessible on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets, but its expansion to consoles marks a significant milestone. This advancement not only saves time but also conserves valuable hard drive space, enhancing the overall gaming experience for users.

To take advantage of this feature, Xbox has provided straightforward instructions:

  • To start streaming from an Xbox console, navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
  • Cloud-playable games will feature a cloud badge on their game page. Utilize the filters to streamline your search by selecting Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming. To begin playing, choose the game and then select Play with Cloud Gaming. Additionally, you can start streaming directly from the Store app after purchasing select cloud-playable games.

In a complementary move, Xbox users can also stream any game installed on their Xbox consoles to devices equipped with supported web browsers via this link. Note that this streaming feature is no longer supported on the Xbox mobile app but remains accessible on smartphones through the browser link. Xbox is currently expanding this functionality to Samsung and Amazon Fire smart TVs, as well as Meta Quest headsets.

In another significant update, Xbox has announced that starting this month, Xbox and Xbox 360 backward compatible games will also support remote play, further enhancing the flexibility and convenience of gaming on the platform.
