Xbox Announces Surprise Reveal in January Direct

Xbox's Developer_Direct returns on January 23rd, 2025, showcasing a lineup of highly anticipated games, including a mystery title. This in-depth look at upcoming games will feature developers themselves, explaining the creative process and team behind each title.

Four Games to be Showcased:

The Developer_Direct will feature four games, three of which have been announced:

• South of Midnight (Compulsion Games): An action-adventure game set in a mystical American South, where players follow Hazel's journey to rescue her mother and mend a broken world ravaged by a hurricane. Hazel must master the art of "Weaving," a form of magic, to overcome mythical creatures. Launching in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S and Steam.

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Sandfall Interactive): A turn-based RPG with real-time combat elements. Players join Gustave and Lune in a fantasy world where a Paintress erases people annually. The 33rd expedition must stop the Paintress and break the cycle of death. Launching in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Steam, and Epic Store.

• DOOM: The Dark Ages (id Software): A prequel to Doom (2016), this single-player FPS sends the Doom Slayer back in time to battle hellish forces in a techno-medieval setting. Players will wield a throwable shield and an arsenal of weaponry. Launching in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam.

• A Surprise Game: Details are scarce, adding to the anticipation surrounding this unannounced title.
