Warriors: Abyss: Roguelite Twist on Beloved Franchise Now Live

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unveils another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a squad of iconic characters and battle through hordes of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.

Gameplay footage reveals team-based combat against demonic forces from "hell," featuring characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.

According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, with a roster of 100 warriors available at launch.

Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster, beginning with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further additions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise joining the fray.

Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players seeking the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should purchase the game before March 14, 2025.
