This upcoming action-adventure game draws inspiration from Arthurian myths and is set in a post-apocalyptic London. Tides of Annihilation Targets a Western Audience

The Central Concept of Arthurian Myths and Knights

Eclipse Glow Games, a China-based developer, chose a Western setting for Tides of Annihilation due to specific expectations from their financial backer, Tencent. The producer explained, "This game and Black Myth: Wukong are two projects invested in by Tencent, and there were different expectations set on these two projects. Black Myth: Wukong targeted the Chinese market, but for this project, we targeted a Western audience, so we chose the Arthurian legends." The game's narrative revolves around the theme of knights, ultimately focusing on King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.

Set in a post-apocalyptic modern-day London, the game follows the journey of the heroine, Gwendolyn, who appears to be the last human survivor after an Outworld invasion. While the setting is contemporary, Tides of Annihilation incorporates fantasy elements inspired by Arthurian myths, blending the real world with the mythical.

Devil May Cry-inspired Combat and Over 30 Bosses

The gameplay of Tides of Annihilation mirrors the dynamic combat style of the Devil May Cry series, a fact acknowledged by the developers. They noted, "It's definitely more like Devil May Cry," yet they've introduced a difficulty selection feature to cater to a broader range of players. This makes the game accessible to those who enjoy action but may not be as seasoned in hardcore gameplay.

Players can customize their combat style with four different weapons and enlist the help of over ten Knights as sidekicks. Gwendolyn discovers her ability to command the legendary Knights of the Round Table, who assist her in navigating the ruins of London to uncover the truth behind the invasion. With over 30 unique bosses to challenge, the game promises engaging and demanding combat encounters.

Plans of Creating an Anthology

Looking ahead, Eclipse Glow Games expressed interest in expanding Tides of Annihilation into an anthology, exploring different settings and mythologies with new protagonists. The core concept of the Outworld invasion would remain a central theme across the series.
