We're just weeks away from the much-anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, and amidst the buzz about pricing, tariffs, and game key cards, one third-party publisher, Take-Two Interactive, is expressing high hopes for the new console.

In a recent Q&A session with investors following the company's full-year earnings report, Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, shared his "great optimism" regarding the Nintendo Switch 2. He emphasized that Nintendo's approach to supporting third-party publishers has improved significantly from previous efforts:

"We're launching four titles with Nintendo Switch 2, and that's I think a bigger array of releases than we've ever offered before with a new Nintendo platform. Historically, being a third party in the Nintendo business has been a bit challenging. I think Nintendo has been very forthcoming in addressing that. And we're stepping up too, because we have great optimism for the platform. In terms of what we would bring to any platform, we address it on a case-by-case basis, we obviously want to be where the consumers are. But we would not necessarily bring every title to every platform. There are also great catalog opportunities as well."

Take-Two Interactive is set to release four titles on the Nintendo Switch 2, including Civilization 7 on launch day, June 5, and Borderlands 4 on September 12. The NBA 2K and WWE 2K series will also make their way to the console, though specific titles and release dates remain undisclosed. These choices are not unexpected, considering Take-Two's history of publishing these franchises on the original Nintendo Switch. However, Zelnick's comments suggest that the door might be open for more titles from Take-Two's extensive back catalog in the future. While GTA 6 might not be on the immediate horizon for the Switch 2, there's a glimmer of hope that GTA V could eventually find its way onto the platform.

In a pre-investor call interview, Zelnick discussed the company's recent performance and shared insights on the development timeline of GTA 6, including its delay to next year.
