Sonic Rumble has yet to launch globally, but it's already making waves with its first crossover event, dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This exciting event is live now and will run until May 7th, just before the worldwide launch on May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is available in over 40 countries. It went through two pre-launch phases last summer: Pre-launch 1 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by Pre-launch 2 in Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.
If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched, you can immerse yourself in the SEGA Stars crossover. Fans of Altered Beast will be thrilled to see the return of the Werewolf transformation, available for free. For those nostalgic for the beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon are also up for grabs. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will enjoy the addition of Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa to the lineup. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, and Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments bought with standard rings, with each fragment costing 700 rings.
Super Monkey Ball fans will be delighted to see AiAi and MeeMee join the fray. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Check out the crossover event in action below.
During the event, you can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos in matches. Although it's unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has assured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will return later.
It's thrilling to see Sonic Rumble's first crossover event delve into SEGA's rich catalog, featuring monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and powerful were-creatures alongside Sonic and friends. This makes Sonic Rumble an exciting prospect.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region, or wait for the global launch on May 8th.
