RuneScape's RuneFest 2025: A Sea of New Content!
RuneScape celebrated its triumphant return to RuneFest in 2025, marking the first event since 2019. The festival showcased a wave of exciting new content for both Old School RuneScape (OSRS) and mainline RuneScape.
Old School RuneScape's Trifecta of Updates:
OSRS players were treated to a trio of major updates. First, the highly anticipated introduction of Sailing as a brand new skill, complete with a fleet of nautical vessels. Second, a challenging new endgame boss, Yama, will test even the most seasoned adventurers. Finally, an HD upgrade will enhance visuals without compromising the game's classic low-poly aesthetic.
Beyond the Waves:
RuneFest 2025 extended beyond the new skill. The launch of Project Zanaris, a modding platform for OSRS, opens doors for community-created content, with playtests now underway.
Mainline RuneScape's Expansion:
Mainline RuneScape players will also experience significant additions. Leagues, a popular game mode, makes its official debut, alongside the captivating new region of Havenhythe. This expansive area introduces deadly Vampyre bosses, unique locations, fresh skilling activities, and a wealth of new quests.
Havenhythe and the Leagues mode promise countless hours of gameplay extending well into 2026. RuneScape continues to set the bar high for mobile MMORPGs. If you're seeking more mobile MMO experiences, explore our list of the top 7 smartphone games similar to World of Warcraft.
