When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?
Mark your calendars for May 30, 2025, the official release date for Destined Rivals. That's when all sealed products will be shipped and available on shelves, if there are any left. The Pokémon Company has been working hard to address ongoing stock issues. From May 17 to 25, select stores will host pre-release events with Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. It's a good idea to check with your local league store now—maybe even bring some snacks to sweeten the deal.
What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?
Let's be honest—I'll probably end up buying more than I should. But hey, we're all in this together, right?
Here's what you can expect when Destined Rivals hits the market:
Booster Packs
Booster Boxes (36 packs)

Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box

There's also a high chance we'll see special collection boxes featuring alternate art promos, especially of characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You might not need them, but you'll definitely convince yourself otherwise.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On
I can already see myself filling multiple binders with these beauties, but here are a few cards that have already claimed a spot on my must-have list:
Cynthia’s Garchomp ex: This card is all about power and strategy. It deals massive damage, draws cards, and radiates that Champion confidence. I'm aiming for three of these bad boys.
Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex: A perfect blend of utility and elegance, this card speeds up Fire Energy placement and can heal your team while hitting for 160. It's breathtaking, and I'm hooked.
Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex: This card is pure theatrics. It won't attack unless your deck is full-on Team Rocket, but when it does, it's a spectacle of energy manipulation. I admire its flair.
Misty’s Psyduck: This card is here to make you chuckle, then probably lose in the most endearing way. Its ability lets you discard it back to the top of your deck, and I'm here for it.
Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex: It brings the villainous energy with a Dark-type build that loves energy acceleration and disruption. I'm ready to relive the 2020 meta with this one.
